Senator Christopher "Bong" Go expressed his condolences to the Japanese people, especially to the families of earthquake victims in Japan. Here is the senator's full statement.
STATEMENT OF SEN. BONG GO:
I most sincerely condole with the Japanese people, particularly the families and loved ones of all who perished when a 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit central Japan last January 1.
I am also deeply saddened to know that a Japanese Coast Guard aircraft destined to bring assistance to quake victims figured in an accident at an airport a day later, killing the five personnel on board.
In this time of need and sorrow, I reaffirm my compassion, sympathy, and solidarity with our Japanese brothers and sisters.
I pray and know that the people of Japan will soon recover from these and emerge as a more united and resilient nation.
