Candon airport construction under way

CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur — The construction of the much-awaited Candon City Community Airport has started, according to District Engineer Rene G. Gagno.

In an interview with DAILY TRIBUNE, Gagno disclosed that the site development has been started, saying the first building to be constructed will start by January next year, adding that the airport will be funded through the initiatives of Mayor Eric Singson and his daughter Ilocos Sur Second District Representative Kristine Singson-Meehan.

Gagno added the initial amount of P200 million came from Candon City while the P70 million came from Department of Public Works and Highways which was awarded to two qualified contractors.
