President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday extended an invitation to the public to visit Malacañang as he will be staying in Manila with his family for Christmas.
Since Marcos himself decided to open the Palace grounds for the Christmas season, the Chief Executive extended his invitation in a video posted on his Facebook page as he wished the Filipino public happy holidays ahead.
"Today, we have an open house. While there's Simbang Gabi (Night Mass), the Palace also holds an open house. Please come and visit us," Marcos told the Filipinos.
"All your children, the kids, are welcome to have fun while waiting for the Night Mass. So hopefully, we'll see each other here in the Palace for a Christmas celebration," Marcos added.
When asked about the First Family's plans this Yuletide season, the Presidential Communications Office said they have opted to celebrate Christmas Day in Manila.
"(Marcos) will be in Manila (for the holiday season)," a PCO official said.
Simbang Gabi masses are currently being held in front of Mabini Hall at 4:30 a.m., as the Palace is now open to the public for the holidays.
There are public games and carnival rides on the Kalayaan grounds of the Palace.
