Philippine national weightlifters Vanessa Sarno and Kristel Macrohon finished outside of the top three in the women's 71-kilogram event to cap off the country's campaign in the IWF Grand Prix II in Dubai early Monday.
Sarno, a 2020 Asian Weightlifting Federation champion, finished the event fifth with a snatch of 108 kgs and a clean-and-jerk of 141 kgs for a total lift of 249 kgs.
Meanwhile, Macrohon, a 2019 SEA Games gold medalist, finished in ninth place after a total lift of 234 kgs composed of a snatch of 104 kgs and a clean-and-jerk of 140 kgs.
North Korea's Song Kuk Hyang dominated the event with a snatch of 120 kgs and a clean-and-jerk of 149 kgs for a total lift of 169 kgs.
Liao Guifang of China, this year's World Weightlifting Championships gold medalist, settled for silver after lifting a snatch of 116 kgs and a clean-and-jerk of 148 kgs for a total lift of 264 kgs.
