BAGUIO CITY — The capital of Kalinga province had recently received the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance which was earned under Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero who was suspended two months ago.
Tabuk City clinched its second SGLG award, showing the manner of leadership of Estrañero and other Tabuk City LGU entities in managing the Kalinga capital.
In 2001, Tabuk City was awarded such recognition because of the administration exemplary performance in 2021.
This year, the SGLG award was given to Tabuk City for Estrañero and the other officials' achievements in 2022, highlighting the city's commitment to providing efficient delivery of public services and its efforts in strengthening transparency, accountability and participation.
To recall, the local chief executive was slapped with three months suspension last 3 October 2023 for simple misconduct on the issue of said irregularities in purchasing medical equipment and PPE during the onslaught of Covid-19 pandemic.
