DAVAO CITY — The barangay police in the first district received motorcycle equipment from the Office of First Congressional District Rep. Paolo Duterte through his son Rodrigo "Rigo" Duterte II on 25 November.
Rigo turned over the Kawasaki CT 100 equipment — a police siren with PA system and mic, front blinker, beacon light, front crash guard stainless, and pole stand stainless — to barangay captains to be used by the barangay police.
The First Congressional District is composed of 54 barangays from two administrative districts — Talomo and Poblacion.
Like the police officers, the barangay police were encouraged to use motorcycles for reinforcement duties — helping the authorities patrol their area of responsibility (AOR), chasing offenders, and providing general security.
"We thank the barangay police for doing their job," Duterte said, adding that, acquiring the new motorcycle equipment would strengthen their competence to prevent and respond to street crimes in their respective AOR.
