DMW: Suspect indicted in killing of Pinay caregiver in Jordan

Department of Migrant Workers Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo Cacdac announced on Thursday that the suspect in the murder of a female overseas Filipino worker who worked as a caregiver in Jordan has been indicted.

"We honor the chance to update our dear OFW families with respect to their pursuit for justice. In the case of slain Jordanian OFW Mary Grace Santos, we updated Nanay Santos today about the indictment by the Prosecutor of the accused perpetrator," said Cacdac in a social media post.

On 23 November, DMW assured the family of the slain OFW in Jordan that they will get justice for Santos' death.

Santos was found dead inside a closet in her employer's basement the day after her family reported to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration that Santos had been missing since 11 October.

According to the police report, the victim was raped and strangled. Based on the investigation, the suspect is Santos' co-worker's son, a minor and an Egyptian national.

Santos had been working as a caregiver abroad for eight years to support her two children, one of whom has congenital heart disease.
