DAVAO CITY — Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso Magno donated an additional 50 boxes of canned goods to the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 on Tuesday to be distributed to the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) program.
These are the third batch of donations by Magno's office to PRO-11.
"We committed to help the Police Community Relations Office in their advocacy to help the men in uniform reach out to the community," he said.
Aside from the canned goods, Magno also committed to helping PRO 11 in terms of medical and even educational aspects.
The turnover of canned goods was also witnessed by lawyer Elisa Lapiña, director of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Region 11.
Beyond its mandate to maintain security and safety, PRO-11 expanded its community engagement through its R-PSB Program.
The program also served as an action plan of PRO-11 to address the insurgency problem in the country.
It is a strong force that prevents the influence of unaffected and recovery of cleared barangays by strengthening the Barangay-Based Institutions (BBIs) and Barangay-Based Peacekeeping Institutions (BPKIs) for the attainment of a safe and conflict-resilient community.
The R-PSB is geared towards attaining a just and lasting peace in the country by contributing to ending the local armed conflict and paving the way for collective participation and action in delivering government development and services at the barangay level.
