A disqualification complaint was filed against Jeanly Lin, a candidate running for Sangguniang Kabataan chairperson in Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City.
The complaint, which was lodged with the local Commission on Elections office in Quezon City by Andrea Lazaro, alleged that Lin, also known as "JLin," is not a Filipino citizen but a Chinese national.
In the 11-page complaint, Lazaro claimed that Lin's proficiency in Tagalog is limited, and that she allegedly relied on interpreters, while keeping a group of bodyguards during her campaign in their village.
However, Lin's Certificate of Candidacy indicated that she is a Filipino citizen.
