The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development disclosed that an 82-building project under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program is now rising here.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and Social Housing Finance Corporation president Federico Laxa inspected the project site along with other key housing officials last Thursday as the SHFC is spearheading the project dubbed People's Ville I, II and III composed of a total 82 buildings with 8,200 residential units.
Currently, at least five five-story buildings are in final phases of construction in the housing projects.
The project is among the 20 ongoing programs in various phases of development and construction under the administration's flagship "Pambansang Pabahay."
During the project briefing, Acuzar requested SHFC to allot more open spaces and parks for the dwellers, especially the children, to enjoy recreational activities.
The inspection was the first activity of Acuzar and Laxa before leading the launching of the DHSUD Onse Housing Fair at SM Davao.
Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Secretary Leo Tereso Magno and Subdivision and Housing Developers Association-Southern Mindanao Chapter Governor Engr. Kenneth Yap committed their full support to the DHSUD in the implementation of "Pambansang Pabahay" in Mindanao.
Yap and Magno expressed optimism that the DHSUD can hurdle the challenges and deliver positive results.
