The Bureau of Immigration said it is ready to extend assistance to Filipinos who may possibly be repatriated due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.

The BI is now coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) for the possible schedules of repatriations.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that they will deploy special teams that will expeditiously process the documents of all repatriated Filipinos and their families.

"Should they come on special flights, we will have a dedicated team to process their documents immediately upon arrival," said Tansingco.

The BI Chief added that in order to ensure the welfare of the repatriates, the bureau would provide all necessary support as requested by the DFA and the DMW.

As of today, no schedules for repatriation have been coordinated with them but they are closely monitoring any updates from the agencies.

Tansingco also said that the safety of all kababayans is a top priority for the government, and the BI will do what it can to extend assistance to the agencies involved in the repatriation of fellow Filipinos.
