Subic Bay Freeport — This premier Freeport played host to the Central Luzon Sustainable Tourism Summit held at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center on Tuesday.
With the theme "Practical Approaches Towards a Greener Philippines," the two-day summit included an eco-tour around the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and a welcome dinner on the first day, with the summit proper during the second day.
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority senior deputy administrator Renato Lee III gave welcome remarks on Tuesday during the welcome dinner, followed by an inspirational message by Tourism Promotional Board chief operating officer Maria Margareta Nograles.
During the welcome dinner, the summit also conducted the Bisita, Be My Guest Activation Program, a cultural presentation by the Sinukwan Kapampangan Performing Arts courtesy of the TPB.
According to Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco, the Bisita, Be My Guest is a promotional campaign for Overseas Filipino Workers, Overseas and Former Filipinos to invite their foreigner friends, colleagues and relatives to travel to the Philippines, and experience our country's beauty and people's love of country.
"To echo our President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s words, 'there is no warmer, more poignant sight than the smile of a Filipino,' and it is the same genuine smile that we hope our foreign guests would hope to witness in their next trip here," Frasco said.
