Kumu, a livestreaming platform that has become a popular destination for Filipinos around the world, has been celebrating its fifth anniversary with a series of new shows and programs.
The company also scheduled a Diamond Gala last 26 August at the Shangri-La Fort in Manila, where users would have had the chance to meet and greet their favorite streamers.
"The Diamond Gala is our way of commemorating Kumu's journey and sharing our gratitude for the years of support for our platform and initiatives," said Roland Ros, Kumu's CEO and co-founder.
"This event embodies our commitment to building a safe platform that prioritizes the voice of the Filipino people at home and around the world."
Kumu has partnered with some of the biggest names in Philippine entertainment to produce a wide variety of games and talent competitions, as well as talk shows.
Kumu has strived to be a force for good in the community. During the pandemic, the platform launched the "Healthcareoke" fundraiser, which raised money for frontline healthcare workers.
Kumu has also hosted events for Filipino seafarers and aspiring female performers. It is also planning to expand its reach to new audiences around the world. The company has partnered with ABS-CBN Global to bring its shows to viewers in the United States, Canada and other countries.
