Veterans Terrence Romeo and Vic Manuel are slowly regaining their forms, giving San Miguel Beer additional firepower when it competes in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner's Cup starting 15 October.

Beermen team manager Gee Abanilla said the health status of Romeo and Manuel has been improving, giving head coach Jorge Gallent additional weapons when they see action in the season-ending conference.

After being slowed down by various injuries in the previous season, Romeo made a return to the PBA On Tour, posting averages of 18.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game in five games before sitting out the next six matches due to back injury.

Last season, Romeo played only eight games as he struggled with a dislocated shoulder in the first bubble tournament before suffering a knee injury in the following season.

Manuel, for his part, spent the past few months with a knee injury that kept him out during the preseason series.

Abanilla said Manuel is still having some swelling on his left knee while Romeo is still experiencing tightness of his right hamstring.

Still, both of them are close to regaining their deadly forms and are expected to rejoin their training starting 22 August.

"They're not yet 100 percent but they're showing a lot of improvement," Abanilla said. "Of course, we will rely on them, same as the rest of the guys in Coach Jorge Gallent's rotation."

Abanilla added that they are already in the middle of negotiations with the import who will replace Chris McCullough.

After playing for the Beermen four years ago, McCullough was tapped to return but he remains tied up with his club in Taiwan.
