A total of 1,000 persons with disabilities (PWDs) from Manaoag and San Jacinto received P2,000 each in cash assistance under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
The distribution was held at the Manaoag Sports Center through the DSWD in coordination with the office of Pangasinan Rep. Gina de Venecia.
Each beneficiary received P2,000 to help cover daily expenses and other essential needs, bringing the total assistance distributed to P2 million.
The AICS program provides financial assistance to individuals and families experiencing difficult circumstances, subject to the DSWD’s assessment and eligibility requirements.
Meanwhile, PWD beneficiaries who are minors and were unable to receive their assistance during the payout were advised to coordinate with their respective local government units (LGUs).
Under DSWD guidelines, the assistance for eligible minors must be received by their parents or legal guardians. The LGUs are expected to coordinate with the affected beneficiaries to facilitate the release of the assistance through their authorized representatives.
