Health workers and community leaders in Brgy. Irawan utilize the refurbished birthing facility to implement their medical programs, offering free prenatal care and deliveries to hundreds of women.
The facility, led by midwife Narcisa Jagmis from the Tagbanua tribe, had to halt operations in 2018 but was revitalized by the SM Foundation.
The foundation introduced sustainable features like a rainwater harvesting system and energy-efficient lighting, supporting Palawan's environment.
Dr. Ricardo Panganiban believes this development will help the facility acquire its license from the Department of Health.
The community looks forward to closer access to health programs and better care for everyone's well-being.
