A record 42 teams, featuring the country's top junior golfers, will converge on Tuesday at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in General Trias, Cavite for the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines Interclub golf team championships.
It is the biggest tournament in the hectic JGFP calendar, drawing close to 170 players including a handful of Thai reinforcements.
The field is divided into four divisions: Division 1 Championship, Division 1 Developmental, Division 2 Championship and Division 2 Developmental.
Each team is composed of four players with only the top three scorers counting for every round. The Molave scoring system will be used.
The top teams after 54 holes will be declared champions.
Division 1, featuring players 13 to 18 years old, is a wide-open race among host Eagle Ridge, Canlubang, Orchard, Team TGA, Team CDO, Pueblo de Oro and Riviera.
The host club will be led by Junior World-bound Bobe Salahog while Asian Junior Masters champion Edison Tabalin headlines Canlubang.
Orchard boasts Zachary Castro and Tristan Jefferson Padilla while Team TGA has Geoffrey Tan and Thai import Chonpansa Tawinsang.
Team CDO is led by Zeus Sara and Kiara Montebon while Pueblo de Oro fielded two tough teams.
The first team is led by Cliff Nuneza while the second is bannered by Faldo Series Asia winner Alethea Gaccion.
Cebu Country Club, Apo and Del Monte, which also hosted JGFP legs, are also sending teams to the three-day event.
Riviera is led by Patrick Gene Tambalque.
Division 1 will be played at the Aoki course.
TGA Junior, Canlubang, Orchard and Pueblo de Oro are expected to fight it out in Division 2 at the Norman course.

Canlubang has Precious Zaragosa, Race Phoenix Manhit, Ryuji Suzuki and Kenzo Gavin Tan.
The Sarines trio of Mona, Lisa and Vito teams up with Jacob Gomez for Orchard while Pueblo de Oro will be powered by Batican siblings Ralph Rian and Rafella, Alonso Retuerto and Franco Qui.
JGFP president Oliver Gan thanked Eagle Ridge general manager Boy Blue Ocampo and director Ramil Villanueva for hosting the prestigious tournament.
