Sen. Bong Go urged his fellow Filipinos to make use of alternative noisemakers to welcome the year 2023 as he expressed support for stronger government efforts to prevent fireworks-related injuries.
Go during an ambush interview after the relief effort he personally spearheaded in Parañaque City on Tuesday, 27 December.
Kaya let's enjoy welcoming the new year na kumpleto po ang ating mga daliri, wala pong nasusugatan," he highlighted.
Meanwhile, the senator clarified that although it is discouraged, allowing the use of fireworks is under the discretion of the respective local government units.
He cited that there are several LGUs that issued ordinances prohibiting private households from using firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
