Sen. Bong Go personally visited and checked on the situation of struggling Batangueños in the towns of Santa Teresita and San Nicolas on Thursday, 15 December, as part of his efforts to help more underprivileged Filipinos, especially during the Christmas season.
"Mga kababayan ko… ako po'y isang Batangueño rin. Marahil po'y hindi na ako lumaki dito sa Batangas pero ang mga lolo't lola ko po'y mula sa Sto. Tomas at sa Tanauan," shared Go.
"Pinaghalo ang Batangueño at Bisaya… 'Pag pinaghalo 'yan, iyan po 'yung tapang at malasakit," he added.
Go spearheaded the relief efforts at the respective municipal covered courts of Sta. Teresita and San Nicolas where a total of 2,000 indigent residents, including college students, received grocery packs, masks, vitamins, meals and shirts.
Meanwhile, select residents also received new pairs of shoes, bicycles, cellular phones, watches, umbrellas, and balls for basketball and volleyball as part of the senator's advocacy to promote grassroots sports development and keep the youth away from vices like illegal drugs.
Furthermore, the senator, who is an adopted son of CALABARZON, gave recognition to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for providing separate financial aid to the residents and educational assistance to 600 college students.
On 8 December, Go likewise personally delivered assistance to hundreds of indigents in Malvar, Batangas.
