

The Philippine Navy delegation attended the six-day activities held as part of the 18th Western Pacific Naval Symposium in Yokohama, Japan.
PN spokesperson Commander Benjo Negranza said the event, which run from 5 to 10 November, was hosted by the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force dubbed "Free and Open Oceans: Cooperative Efforts for the Next Generation" wherein various cooperative initiatives and maritime matters of mutual interest among Naval leaders and other key officials were discussed.
The PN delegation, led by acting Flag Officer In Command, Rear Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia, actively participated in the series of bilateral meetings, International Fleet Review, and strategic-level discussion of chiefs of navies.
During the meetings, Valencia presented the country's mechanisms for fostering deeper and long-lasting ties among WPNS members through adherence to international law conventions.
