Aaron Carter has passed away.
On 5 November, the American singer was pronounced dead after he was found unresponsive in the bathtub of his Palmdale, California home.
According to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, they received a 911 call from a house sitter saying they found an unresponsive male in the bathtub. After instructing to initiate CPR, authorities arrived at the scene where they deemed the man deceased.
The official cause of his death has yet to be disclosed. He left behind an 11-month-old son named Prince, which he shares with model Melanie Martin.
Carter was the sibling of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter.
Colleagues took time to pay their respects to the fallen musician.
Hilary Duff penned: "For Aaron — I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in-front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent… boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy."
Duff was referring to the personal struggles Carter has gone through over the years, including mental health issues like multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, and manic depression.
The Real host Loni Love tweeted, "Met Aaron Carter in 2018, funny, talented and cool. I felt that he was trying…. he really was just trying to be happy. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.. Condolences to his family and fans."
Fellow singer-songwriter Diane Warren said: "Fame at a young age is often more a curse than a blessing and Surviving it is not easy. RIP Aaron Carter."
Carter rose to fame at the tender age of nine when his cover of The Jets' "Crush on You" topped the Billboard charts. This opened doors for him including being an opening act to his brother's group as well as for Britney Spears.
