Ruru Madrid doesn't mind haters.

The Kapuso talent was referring to negative comments about the series Lolong which he stars in.

"Personally, I don't get affected with those kinds of comments. I'd rather focus on the positive feedback that we receive," Madrid told media in a conference for the series' finale episode.

"People will always have a say with whatever you do or however the show does well. We should just focus on the positive side instead of dwelling on the negativity," the 24-year-old actor said.

"Our goal is to entertain people, serve as an inspiration, a source of hope, and (impart) lessons."

Despite negative feedback, Lolong was regarded as the most watched Philippine television series this year. It also won the Gawad Pilipino Award 2022's Best Primetime Serye.

In fact, Madrid said Lolong will have a second season.

The series' executive producer Mark Anthony Norella said: "With the overwhelming support we experienced in season 1, we want to prepare more thoroughly with the graphics. It's an aspect that's really work-heavy."

"Season 1 is hard to extend, it's really meant to end that way. We will prepare for season 2."

The series is based on GMA's Jessica Soho's idea to depict the conflict between humans and animals — specifically Lolong, the world's largest crocodile in captivity.
