First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has assured foreign students who choose to study medicine in the Philippines that a bright future awaits them.

In a Facebook post, Mrs. Marcos said she held another “productive follow-up meeting” with government agencies to find practical ways to make it easier for foreign students to study and work in the country.

“These are young people who have come to our country with big dreams — to study medicine, work hard and build a better future,” she said.

“Given our English-speaking population, talented educators, and warm Filipino hospitality, why shouldn’t the Philippines become an education hub, just like some of our ASEAN neighbors?” she asked.

Much work ahead

The First Lady acknowledged that much work remains but said she is hopeful that “we can turn these conversations into real opportunities.”

“Let’s open more doors, create more opportunities, and make our country a place where young dreams can grow,” she said.
