Farmer gored to death by carabao in Bukidnon

BUKIDNON — A 54-year-old farmer died after being repeatedly gored by his carabao while plowing a field in Purok Malinawon, Barangay Pinamaloy, Don Carlos, Bukidnon, on Tuesday, 20 October.

According to the Don Carlos Municipal Police Station, the farmer had been plowing his field since morning and repeatedly whipping the animal, which reportedly showed signs of exhaustion.

At around 3 p.m., the carabao refused to move, prompting the farmer to whip it again.

Police said the animal suddenly became aggressive and attacked the farmer, goring him in the head.

The carabao continued attacking after the farmer fell to the ground, inflicting severe injuries to his body.

The victim was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities have yet to disclose whether the carabao was restrained or secured following the incident.
