Police are investigating an alleged holdup at a gasoline station along the National Highway in Barangay Pias Sur, Currimao, Ilocos Norte, after two unidentified men reportedly took the establishment's collection early Saturday, October 17.

The Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) sent a press statement to members of the media covering the provincial police office shortly before midnight, detailing the incident and the ongoing investigation by the Currimao Municipal Police Station (MPS).

According to police, the incident occurred at around 12:10 a.m., but the pump attendant reported it at around 6:45 p.m. on the same day.

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments and barangays and interviewing potential witnesses to establish the circumstances of the incident and identify the suspects.

Police have yet to disclose the amount of money allegedly taken or the identities of the suspects.

The Currimao MPS urged the public to remain calm and vigilant and to refrain from sharing unverified information on social media that could cause unnecessary panic.
