Police arrested a man Friday on suspicion of looting a neighbor’s home in Barangay Tinajeros after the homeowner discovered the residence stripped of furniture, appliances and fixtures, authorities said.

Malabon City Police officers apprehended a suspect identified by the alias “Ferdinand” following a burglary complaint filed Thursday night by a female homeowner, identified by police as alias “Annie.”

A second suspect, identified as 40-year-old alias “Cenon,” fled the area and remains the subject of a police manhunt.

The victim, who works in Parañaque City and returns to her home on Aracity Street only once a week, arrived Thursday evening to find her front door forced open and the interior nearly cleared out.

In her complaint to police, the victim reported missing items valued at P196,750, including jewelry, clothing, imported shoes, designer bags, a television set, a welding machine, an LPG tank, cookware, bathroom fixtures, footwear and electrical light switches.

Investigators reviewed neighborhood closed-circuit television footage and interviewed a witness, identified as alias “Rose,” who reported seeing two neighbors enter the vacant residence.

Officers tracked down “Ferdinand” and recovered stolen items valued at P30,000 including a wrist watch worth P8,000, two shower heaters, decorative lighting, and an electric kettle.
