Lucena low-income inflation hits 7.2%




LUCENA CITY — Lucena City posted the highest inflation rate among CALABARZON’s six statistical areas for households in the bottom 30 percent income group in August, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
PSA data showed inflation among low-income households in Lucena accelerated to 7.2 percent in August from 5.5 percent in July and 0.6 percent in August 2025.
The rate was also higher than Lucena City’s overall inflation of 5.6 percent during the month.
Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels recorded a 14.7-percent inflation rate, up from 8.7 percent in July. Food and non-alcoholic beverages posted an 8.0-percent inflation rate.
