A fire that broke out on the third floor of a house in Cristobal Street, Barangay 123, Tondo, Manila, was placed under control within 13 minutes and declared out 18 minutes after it was first reported Monday.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire was reported at about 12:06 p.m. and immediately raised the first alarm.

Resident Christian Espanol y Claris, 32, said he was sleeping inside the house when a concerned resident knocked on his door and alerted him that the third floor was on fire.

Espanol immediately checked the third floor and found it burning. He then sought assistance from neighbors and Barangay 123 officials.

According to the BFP, the fire was declared under control at 12:19 p.m. and completely extinguished at 12:24 p.m.
