A 24-year-old call center agent was arrested after she allegedly returned to claim a box containing 420 grams of suspected marijuana, or Kush, worth P630,000 in Barangay Ususan, Taguig City, early Monday.
The suspect, identified as alias April, a resident of Barangay North Signal, was arrested for alleged violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police said a K9 handler and her K9 partner detected the possible presence of illegal drugs near the concierge area of an establishment around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
Personnel from Sub-Station 4 of the Taguig City Police Station, with an augmenting team from the District Mobile Force Battalion, responded after establishment personnel sought assistance.
They found an unattended box beneath the concierge counter containing suspected Kush.
Police coordinated with the establishment’s CCTV operator and identified the person who had left the box.
At about 1:15 a.m. Monday, April returned and asked for the box. Police arrested her after confirming through CCTV footage that she was the person who had left it.
Authorities recovered the suspected Kush, along with four boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese and one box container. The items were marked and documented by the seizing officers.
