  • A new queen has emerged on the Miss World stage as Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic claimed the coveted blue crown at the conclusion of Miss World 2026 in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on 5 September.

Mola Dominguez prevailed over a field of 111 delegates in the pageant’s 75th anniversary edition, completing a remarkable campaign that saw her steadily establish herself among the competition’s strongest contenders.

Her victory also delivered another major international pageant achievement for the Dominican Republic as she stood at center stage to receive one of the world’s most prestigious beauty titles.

Joining her in the final winning circle were Elisabeth Reynés of Spain, who finished as first runner-up, and Taanusiya Chetty of Malaysia, who was named second runner-up.

The finalists were asked about their "Beauty With a Purpose" advocacies, to which Mola Dominguez answered, “My Beauty With a Purpose is to take English programs to kids in vulnerable communities, because I believe that when they know this language, the opportunities, the doors that can open to their life, it's huge, big doors. For me, it's something that I will take always in my heart, that I could give those kids... something very important. It's a tool they're gonna work [with] for the rest of their life."

Mola Dominguez had already attracted attention before coronation night. Among her notable achievements was winning the Top Model title for the Americas and Caribbean, providing an early indication of the strength of her campaign.

The competition eventually narrowed its field through the continental selection format, with the strongest delegates battling for the final placements. Mola Dominguez survived each crucial cut before ultimately securing the title.

For the Philippines, Asia Rose Simpson concluded her campaign in the Top 12. The 18-year-old Filipina-American had been one of the competition’s prominent delegates after winning the Head-to-Head Challenge and recording strong performances in Talent, Sports, Top Model and Beauty With a Purpose.

Simpson had hoped to secure the Philippines’ second Miss World crown, 13 years after Megan Young made history as the country’s first winner in 2013.

With the crown now hers, Joheirry Mola Dominguez begins a new chapter as Miss World 2026, carrying the title beyond the competition stage and into the international advocacy and humanitarian work traditionally associated with Miss World.
