The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and local government officials in Aparri have strengthened coordination ahead of field surveys for the proposed East Apayao-Abulug Irrigation System Extension Project.

NIA officials held a courtesy meeting with the Aparri Sangguniang Bayan on 24 August to outline project details and finalize arrangements for identifying project-affected persons.

The discussion aimed to ensure field activities and surveys are conducted in a systematic manner.

Key local figures attending the briefing included the municipal agriculture officer, municipal engineer, and municipal administrator.

NIA said the engagement is part of ongoing efforts to partner with local government units and community stakeholders as administrative preparations for the irrigation system expansion move forward.
