Farmers from the NSL Farmers Irrigators Association carried out a canal clearing activity along the Nassiping Pump Irrigation System as part of efforts to keep the irrigation network operational amid weather-related disturbances.

The activity, led by the association’s officers and monitored by personnel of the Nassiping Pump Irrigation System, focused on clearing the canal of debris and other obstructions that could affect the flow of irrigation water.

The initiative highlights the active participation of farmers in maintaining irrigation facilities, particularly during periods of unsettled weather when debris and other obstructions can affect water delivery.

The activity was monitored by Engr. Ellen Joy C. Yacas, Acting Cluster Head, under the leadership of Engr. Jason Bryan T. Teaño, Acting Division Manager of CB IMO.

The canal clearing also reflects the continuing partnership between the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and the Irrigators Association, with farmers taking an active role in keeping irrigation facilities in good condition and helping ensure reliable water delivery to fellow farmer-beneficiaries.
