The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority–National Capital Region (TESDA NCR) brought together 1,071 jobseekers and 54 participating companies during the World Café of Opportunities (WCO) held on Monday, 24 August, at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, connecting skilled Filipinos with thousands of job opportunities.

Anchored on the campaign “HUSAY • TIBAY • TAGUMPAY,” the WCO generated tangible employment outcomes, with 40 jobseekers hired on the spot and 56 identified as near-hires, for a total of 96 jobseekers progressing toward employment.

The activity underscores the agency’s commitment to strengthening the link between technical-vocational skills, industry demand, and decent employment opportunities.

More than a job fair, the WCO served as a convergence platform for skills, industry, and employment, allowing jobseekers and TVET graduates to directly engage with employers, submit applications, participate in interviews, explore career opportunities, and understand the skills and qualifications sought by the labor market.

The activity also marked the official launch of the TESDA Skills Compass, a career and skills navigation initiative intended to help Filipinos make more informed decisions on training, employment, and career pathways based on evolving labor market opportunities.

The participation of 54 companies and industry partners from the retail, banking and finance, construction, logistics, hospitality, food service, manufacturing, utilities, aviation, business process outsourcing, and other sectors provided jobseekers with a broad range of employment opportunities.

The strong participation of industry, together with the support of TVET associations, demonstrated a shared commitment to creating a demand-driven, industry-responsive, and employment-oriented TVET ecosystem.
