First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has lauded the improvements in providing legal services as the public and private sectors work together to digitize processes and make filing legal documents more convenient for citizens.

The First Lady graced the launch of the eNotarization at the Twala Legal Tech Forum 2026 at the AWS Office in BGC, Taguig.

“For many Filipinos, something as simple as having a document notarized means looking for a notary, waiting in line, and taking precious time away from work and family. That’s why the lawyer in me was especially happy to hear about the nationwide rollout of eNorarization at the Twala Legal Tech Forum 2026!” she said in a Facebook post.

“Sometimes, even the smallest improvements can make a big difference in people’s lives. My warmest congratulations to Twala and all the brilliant minds and hardworking people who helped make this possible. Technology may change how we practice law, but one thing that should never change is that the law must always serve the people,” she said.

The national launch featured two separate agreements electronically notarized through Twala’s platform.

The first involved Twala and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, which supports the Virtual Unified Legal Aid Service, which aims to expand access to legal assistance through digital platforms, particularly for indigent and underserved communities.

The second agreement brought together Twala and the University of the Philippines College of Law to advance legal technology, artificial intelligence and digitalization.

The signing was witnessed by the First Lady, newly installed Information and Communications Secretary Robert Joseph Montes de Claro, and Anti-Red Tape Authority director general Ernesto Perez.

Twala, a Department of Science and Technology-backed Filipino legal technology startup accredited by the Supreme Court as an electronic notarization facility, provided the platform used for the electronic notarization of the agreements.
