Matt Damon, 55, and his wife Luciana, 49, are proud pet parents of five rescues in an article he shares with People magazine.

The fur babies are Charlie, Osita, Cookie, Rudy and Scoutie.

“We live in Brooklyn, so it’s tough to keep accruing these dogs, but we love them and we do give them a great life,” he shared. “We have five dogs already ranging in age from two to 12,” Damon explained, as he cuddled up with another puppy that he called a “little lovebug.” “We love to rescue dogs. They’re just the greatest.”

Damon and his wife’s eldest dog is named Charlie, but the actor says he and Luciana called him Charles.

The dog that came home with the family of six from Costa Rica was Osita, who was only six weeks old when they first met her and still has the personality of “survivor beach dog” — “even though she grew up with us and has never missed a meal,” he quipped. “We call her our apocalypse dog because if anything ever went wrong, she’d probably be the one we could rely on,” he shared.

A (purr)fect life

“He was just hunting whatever he could find, so we were staying in this little Airbnb, and we started to feed him,” Damon recalled. “We were there for a month, and so, by the end, we realized that he was probably dependent on us. So we caught him, and he had a great life. He passed away a year and a half ago. But he was just the most staunch, incredible cat.”

And then, this. It was announced on Instagram that Damon is headlining the Clear the Shelters campaign, which has successfully helped more than 1.3 million shelter pets find forever homes.

Only a certified true pet-lover would do this. And Matt Damon is it.
