Palace press officer, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro, said a Cebu teacher may find herself facing administrative and criminal charges after threatening to shoot her mouth.
This is still about the controversial remarks of Castro on some teachers who teach students to be ill-mannered.
According to Castro, the threat of Danao City, Cebu teacher Zenith Enriquez is not as simple as a grave threat, as the utterance was made online.
Further, the teacher might face administrative charges and may lose her license and job.
Enriquez earlier aired an online public apology after she shared an AI-generated image depicting herself in a police uniform, commenting on the post of content creator Lovely Granada.
In the comments, a Facebook user jokingly suggested that she shoot Castro.
Enriquez replied with another joke about shooting Castro in the mouth, an exchange that went viral when Granada highlighted the post.
Granada questioned whether such comments were appropriate, especially coming from an educator.
The Palace press officer noted that teachers and other public figures should be responsible for what they post on social media, as their statements could be imitated by students who look up to them.
Castro, however, did not say whether she would file a case against Enriquez over the alleged threat.
Last week, Castro’s comment drew flak and lambasting from some teachers after the Palace press officer said that some teachers teach their students to be disrespectful, particularly the incidents in Davao and another viral video of a teacher teaching their students to call President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ‘bangag’ (drug addict).
