The local government of Cainta, Rizal, has apprehended individuals illegally dumping garbage along major thoroughfares and required them to render two days of community service.

“I already gave instructions that no one should dump trash on the Karangalan service road,” Mayor Keith Nieto said. “I already provided a truck that will do nothing but go around in your area three times a day, so you have no reason to dump trash on the streets.”

Some individuals were penalized for roadside dumping after repeatedly ignoring warnings from the local government.

“At 4:13 a.m. early this morning, you threw trash on the service road... you still did it,” Nieto said, referring to a man caught on a surveillance camera dumping trash along the roadside.
