Tom’s World Philippines has strengthened its data protection infrastructure with Synology as the family entertainment company seeks to safeguard information and maintain operations across its nationwide network.
The company built a layered data protection architecture connecting its stores, district offices and headquarters. Critical databases from individual locations are automatically backed up and consolidated through district offices before reaching headquarters.
The setup follows the 3-2-1 backup principle, which calls for keeping three copies of data on two different types of storage, with one copy stored off-site. Centralized management also gives Tom’s World’s IT team visibility over systems across the country.
“True resilience lies in prevention, not reaction. With Synology, Tom’s World Philippines has built a future-ready infrastructure that protects critical data, ensures business continuity, and scales with growth because the greatest competitive advantage is knowing your operations will never stop,” said Vhran-Arjgie Lazatin Guanio, head of the Information Technology Department at Tom’s World Philippines.
The company said the system builds on its existing local backup infrastructure while providing a more standardized and automated approach as its operations expand.
Synology Philippines country manager Claire Huang said businesses increasingly need to treat data infrastructure as part of their long-term strategy rather than simply an IT requirement.
“When organizations view their data infrastructure as part of their long-term business strategy, technology can do more than protect information. It can strengthen resilience, support continuity, and give businesses greater confidence to evolve,” Huang said.
