TUBOD, Lanao Del Norte — Farm Fresh head coach Koji Tsuzurabara knew his squad is in for a tough grind going up against an Nxled side composed of his former champion core.

His wards responded to the challenge with flying colors.

Save for some resistance in the third set, the Foxies flexed their dominance by sweeping the Chameleons, 25-23, 25-13, 25-22, for a mighty rebound win in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour Showdown on Saturday at the Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium.

“Today’s game was fantastic. We went up against a very strong Nxled squad, composed of a lot of my players before. I thought it would be no easy game today, that it would be a close game,” the Japanese mentor said, knowing too well the caliber of the Chameleons veterans that he once handled during the defunct Petro Gazz’s championship run in the 2025 All-Filipino Conference.

“But everyone in my team gave a good performance. So I’m very satisfied. I also appreciate the host city and the organizers for this (On Tour) here,” he added.

The Foxies staved off strong opposition from the Chameleons in the third set for their first victory in two outings in the province-hopping pre-season tournament.

Ces Molina and Trisha Tubu led the way for Farm Fresh with 16 points each and combined for 29 of the team’s 47 attack points.

“Very happy for the win especially against a champion team-composed Nxled. We really prepared well for them since we’re coming off a loss before this game. It’s one of the motivations for us in this game,” the reigning Season MVP Tubu said.

Royse Tubino added 12 points in the Foxies’ bounce-back more than a month after a stinging four-set upset loss at the hands of Galeries Tower.

The Chameleons overhauled a five-point deficit in the third frame with a telling rally to take a 21-19 advantage. Tubino and Molino scored back-to-back hits followed by a Lyann de Guzman attack error to regain the advantage, 22-21.

De Guzman tied it at 22 before the Foxies answered with a closing 3-0 barrage capped by a Rizza Cruz service winner to end the one-hour, 40-minute clash.

Farm Fresh was on fire in the first two sets, burying Nxled early and had all the answers to the Chameleons’ uprisings to take control of the match.

The Foxies will try to end their campaign on a winning note next Saturday against Capital1 in Victorias City in Negros Occidental.

Nxled saw its back-to-back wins snapped and closed its campaign with an even 2-2 win-loss record.

No Chameleon reached double-figure scoring with Myla Pablo and MJ Phillips tallying eight points each.
