Veteran winger Mylene Paat-Rezanova turned back the hands of time with a vintage performance in Farm Fresh’s quick work of Galeries Tower, 25-23, 25-22, 25-15, to start its campaign in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Season 10 All-Filipino Conference Siklab series Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Rezanova flexed her muscles on offense off the bench, dropping 14 points on 11-of-20 kills and three kill blocks to lead the Foxies.

The 32-year-old opposite spiker came in as a substitute for Trisha Tubu in the first set before starting in the next two frames.

“It’s always on my mind what Coach Koji (Tsuzurabara) told us: that everything that we do should always be intentional. Not only to spike, but to kill. That’s my mindset, knowing that I’m an opposite player,” said the former Conference Most Valuable Player.

“We always look for the kill whenever we receive a set. As much as possible, that’s my intention: to score right away,” she added.

Farm Fresh also displayed its depth as Tsuzurabara got great production from all his available players under the all-to-play format.

Ces Molina and Tubu scored nine markers each while Jonna Perdido added five for the Foxies. Molina added 10 digs while Maicah Larroza added 11 excellent receptions and eight digs.

Louie Romero tallied 12 excellent sets to help Farm Fresh pound 40 kills.

The Foxies were in control of the first two sets but ran into a tight start of the third.

The Highrisers kept it tight in the early goings of the third set and even tied it at 7.

Farm Fresh answered with an 11-0 run to break Galeries Tower’s will, building an 18-7 lead heading into the one-hour, 40-minute victory.

The Foxies joined defending champion Creamline and Choco Mucho in the opening-day winners list. MARK ESCARLOTE
