The Philippine Army has strengthened security preparations for the upcoming Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections with the deployment of Task Force 92 of the 1st Brigade Combat Team (1BCT).
The Army's combined arms unit arrived at the headquarters of the 7th Infantry Battalion in Pigcalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, on 12 August.
During the reception ceremony, 602nd Infantry Brigade acting commander Col. Romeo Bautista III highlighted the task force's role as a rapidly deployable force supporting security operations for the elections.
Task Force 92 commanding officer Lt. Col. Anastacio Naz also presented the unit's combined arms operations capabilities.
The demonstration showcased the coordinated deployment of combat and support assets designed to allow troops to respond quickly to potential threats and help maintain peace and order in the autonomous region.
Task Force 92 is composed of units under the operational control of the 1BCT.
The Army said its deployment reinforces efforts to ensure the peaceful and orderly conduct of the BARMM parliamentary elections on 14 September 2026.
