DAVAO CITY — The country’s ten-pin bowling icon Paeng Nepomuceno is set to show his wares in the 18th Davao Ten-pin Bowling Association (DATBA) Kadayawan 2026 at the SM Bowling Center in SM Lanang Premier here.
Dubbed as the biggest so far in all Kadayawan Festival ten-pin tournaments, competition reeled off late Monday and will wrap up on 16 August with cash prizes, trophies and medals at stake for the winners.
DATBA president Rameses Tancontian said they are proud to have the 69-year-old Nepomuceno, a four-time World Cup champion and a member of the prestigious Philippine Sports Hall of Fame, in their event, where he will compete in the open category.
“Bowling legend Paeng Nepomuceno will see action in the open category and will be pitted next to tough contenders from all over the country. We are proud to have him here,” Tancontian said during the Kapehan Sa PIA-XI on Monday.
The tournament, which will be held in the city’s lone ten-pin bowling center at the SM Lanang Premier, expects around 160 entries and will also feature categories like mixed masters, mixed classified, mixed seniors and mixed novice.
