Atome Philippines has partnered with Electronic Commerce Payments Inc. (ECPay) to allow customers to purchase prepaid mobile load directly through the Atome app using their Atome Card.

The service covers Smart, Globe and DITO prepaid load, expanding the range of daily expenses that Atome cardholders can manage through the app.

Atome said it has issued more than 3 million Atome Cards in the Philippines, with up to 80 percent of cardholders being first-time cardholders and 65 percent women. The company said most cardholders use the cards for everyday needs such as groceries, food, household items and utility bills.

ECPay president and CEO Maria Patricia Antonia Pascual said the partnership aims to make mobile load top-ups more accessible and convenient through ECPay's nationwide network.

“With ECPay’s nationwide network helping make services more accessible, reliable and enabling the ecosystem,” Pascual said, adding that the integration makes it simpler for Atome users to top up mobile load anytime, anywhere.

Atome Philippines president and general manager Christian Quiros said mobile load is a regular expense for Filipino households and that the integration allows the company's cardholders to include load purchases in their monthly spending while earning Atome rewards points.

ECPay operates a payment network with 490,000 partner touchpoints nationwide, including 7-Eleven, pawnshops and sari-sari stores, according to the company. DT
