Ruru Madrid is not letting tradition dictate the timeline of his love life.
During his guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the actor revealed that he never expected his younger sister, Rere Madrid, to get married before him. However, he stressed that he does not believe in sukoband is open to walking down the aisle whenever the time is right.
“Kung may hahabol pa, why not?” Ruru said when asked if he would still consider getting married despite his sister marrying first.
The interview also revisited his viral social media caption about a recent double date, where he described the group as consisting of “buntis, bayaw at batas.”
Ruru admitted that he never imagined the caption would become a talking point.
“Actually, parang hindi ko in-expect na parang gano’n pala ’yung magiging caption ko. Pero sobrang sakto kasi si buntis (Rere Madrid), tapos si bayaw (Kai Sotto). Sabi ko, itong si Bianca (Umali) talaga, siya talaga ang batas. Siya ang batas ng buhay ko,” he shared.
Although he and longtime girlfriend Bianca Umali have yet to tie the knot, Ruru joked that he is already embracing a married man’s mindset.
“Hindi pa naman din kami kasal ni Bianca, pero pina-practice ko na ’yung ‘happy wife, happy life,’” he said with a laugh.
Asked how Bianca reacted after seeing the now-viral caption, Ruru said there were no surprises because she already knew what he meant before he posted it.
“Alam naman niya ’yun. Bago ko pa i-post ’yun, ’yun na talaga,” he said.
With humor and honesty, Ruru made it clear that while marriage is not yet on the immediate horizon, he is more than willing to welcome that chapter when the right moment comes.
