EDITORS
Behind the publication’s journalistic vision is a team of editors headed by Chito Lozada, whose bright mind makes sure print stories are balanced, accurate and well-written. Lozada, in the 26 years of the media company’s existence, served as business editor during the time of the title’s founder Ninez Cacho Olivares, before his current role as executive editor, leading with a gentle yet authoritative approach, writing compelling editorials and ensuring the news pages are always in step with the call of the times.
Another DAILY TRIBUNE pioneer is Dinah Sabal Ventura, who has handled the Life section since the paper’s inception. The quiet but productive managing editor is the go-to for creative output, whether for editorial- or advertising-led projects. She also heads the team that closes the thickest Life section in the country to date (and almost half of the anniversary issue, this time), no sweat.
Alongside moving and compelling articles published in DAILY TRIBUNE is John Henry Dodson, who is described as the “stick” (carrot and stick) that hits erring public officials, and sometimes DT staff “who lose the way.” As editor-at-large, Dodson handles the news and makes sure that all reporters do their jobs well, or else.
Rey Bancod, veteran newspaperman and golf aficionado, is another mind behind the front page, and also handles Golf Plus and the daily Nation pages. The seasoned editor is known for his striking banners, being the “heckler” of the publication.
Handling the Business section is Teddy Montelibano, who edits every story flawlessly with depth and accuracy. Economy and in-depth business news are his forte, but don’t give him Filipino quotes because he will transform into a grumpy man. Peace!
Windsor Genova is in charge of the World and Global Goals sections, featuring stories focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The quiet Genova has been known to throw around pithy comments and is the man to ask for witty titles.
Elmer Navarro Manuel, editor of Metro and Dyaryo Tirada, considers himself the all-around substitute, being most relied on to cover for various sections or hosting for shows. He is the editor known as “late to arrive, but first to finish.” Campai!
Finally, the action-packed sports pages are run by sports-savvy Julius Manicad, along with his associate Nick Giongco. The Sports team is lean and mean, yet always ahead in its reports and updates.
Co-managing the motoring section, Blast, are veteran writer Kathy Moran and Ricky Garcia, who is not only an expert of information technology but has been known to do stand-up comedy.
Life associate editor Deni Bernardo, a DT returnee, is a prolific lifestyle and online journalist who has also authored a couple of books, to date. She co-manages Life and all its subsections, which are headed by Social Set editor Luis Espiritu, Pets and Top Form editor Kathy Moran, Arts & Culture editor Roel Hoang Manipon, Show and Next Gen editor Pauline Songco and Spaces Sub-Editor Pauline Joyce Pascual.
The Central Desk operates smoothly under the capable management of editorial assistant Larry Payawal, with Josie De Vera and Via Ramones.
REPORTERS
DAILY TRIBUNE’s frontline news team, responsible for gathering information and delivering news stories from the field, is made up of both experienced and new writers with a zest for truth.
Raffy Ayeng is the Chief of Reporters and
Associate Business Editor currently covering Malacanang Palace. Edjen Oliquino covers the Senate, Department of Foreign Affairs and GSIS, Embassies, and International Criminal Court proceedings.
Jerod Orcullo is assigned to the House of Representatives, Ombudsman, Sandiganbayan, Commission on Audit, among others. Alvin Murcia covers the Justice Beat (Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Department of Justice, among others).
Jing Villamente takes care of Camp Aguinaldo and the Philippine National Police, as well as the Department of the Interior and Local Government. Neil Alcober covers the local government units, airport and police beats.
Pat Santos covers Manila and CAMANAVA.
Lisa Apacible covers the Office of the Vice President, the Department of Education and local government units in the Eastern part of Metro Manila. Sean Magbanua does the rounds in Quezon City.
Maria Romero writes for the Business section and covers the Department of Energy, Department of Transportation and telecommunications firms.
Mico Virata covers the Department of Agriculture, notable business organizations and brands. Toby Magsaysay writes stories on the Department of Finance, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Securities and Exchange Commission and Philippine Stock Exchange.
Completing the Sports section is Mark Escarlote covers volleyball and basketball, rubbing elbows with phenomenal sports stars, and Ivan Suing, who covers rising sports stars coming from Palarong Pambansa, Olympics, ASEAN games and Asian Games.

The images we publish come from a group of photojournalists, who use the power of the lens to tell stories of our time. Heading the team is Yummie Dingding, with Toto Lozano, Aram Lascano and Joey Sanchez.

Design plays a huge part in establishing a newspaper’s character, and in DAILY TRIBUNE, the team that ensures stories and advertisement are visually appealing is headed by another DT pioneer, Marivic Clemente, with her creatives led by Lorelie Bulacan, Jaimes Sumbilon, Alexus Josuelle Gonzales and Jon Gamboa. Cartoonists Edwin Venturina and Glen Tolo are responsible for most of the art in the newspaper.
ONLINE TEAM
DAILY TRIBUNE’s is arguably among the best online news portals in the country to date. In Facebook alone, DT’s Facebook page currently has 1.9 million followers, with billions in engagement metrics. The Online team is headed by Carl Magadia (head), Jason Mago (associate online head), social media head and editor Vernon Velasco, and editors Vivienne Angeles and Abegail Esquierda.
The young team also includes Chynna Basillaje (head of design), online artists Sheila Figueroa, Genalie Eclipse and Barrone Gan; production director Yuko Shimomura and staff Justin Fabian;online reporters Eliana Lacap, Gwen Bergado, Michael Pingol and Louisse Kalingag; IT Department head Kenneth Tabornal and his staff Lee Pinero, Christian Baracena, Nasher Perida and Kate Perida.

On the other side of the news, DAILY TRIBUNE has been in the business for 26 years because of the hard work and dedication of a lean-and-mean team headed by Advertising Manager Jelene Galvan and Executive Director for Brand Communications Chingkee Mangcucang, with account executives Gene Galvan, Ann Llena and Rey Balabag, and executive secretary Lowela Mangcucang.
Digital marketing head Patricia Ramirez oversees events, partnerships and collaborations for the media organization.

Vice president for Finance Cheeney Mangcucang and her efficient crew, Mary Ann Datoy, Rucel Meneses and Jocelyn Espiritu secure the financial soundness of the whole organization.
