Scheffler ties course record 61, seizes PGA lead
Fuerza FC pulled off a convincing 3-1 victory over Arayat Athletic Academy to rule the U12 division of the Copa Haribon Championship last Sunday at the Vermosa Football Field in Imus, Cavite.
Dos Royo opened the scoring parade before Ethan de Claro registered a brace to help the Lipa City-based young booters clinch the crown and secure the right to represent the country in the prestigious Singa Cup in Singapore this November.
Zach Hernan Ilao, a Grade 6 student at De La Salle Lipa who will also participate in the final round of the HKIMO on 22 August, also had some significant contributions at the defensive end while providing support to Fuerza strikers in the crucial stretch of the match.
Coached by Megs Sindayen and managed by April Mosca, the squad clinched a pair of individual awards to underscore its dominance in this grassroots football tournament that aims to foster sportsmanship and build tournament experience at an early age.
Nathaniel Andal emerged as Most Valuable Player while James Michael Tey bagged the Best Goalkeeper plum. Meanwhile, Jansen Monje, who scored the lone goal for Arayat, lifted the Golden Boot award.
