  • LAOAG CITY — Students from Special Education (SPED) schools took center stage this week as SM City Laoag celebrated National Disability Rights Week with an art exhibit highlighting the creativity and talents of persons with disabilities.

Mounted in partnership with the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (CSWDO), the exhibit features artworks by SPED students from across Laoag City, offering the public a glimpse into their imagination, artistic expression and unique perspectives.

More than an art display, the exhibit aims to promote inclusion and encourage greater appreciation of the abilities of persons with disabilities.

The showcase is part of SM Supermalls’ “Art for Everyone” campaign, a nationwide initiative that provides artists from diverse backgrounds with opportunities to display their work and connect with the community.

Through the exhibit, SM City Laoag hopes to foster a more inclusive environment where every individual is recognized, valued and celebrated, while reinforcing the role of art as a bridge for creativity, self-expression and social inclusion.
