While there is a list of so many things I can write about, I just can’t stop writing about the cosmic energies today. 2026 has such elegant, beautiful and wild celestial patterns and for those of us (astrologers both professional and enthusiasts) who try to decipher the planetary patterns, the stars have really been broadcasting something so unique and different this year.

I won’t go into the jargon of astrology so I can best explain that story for the layman. Major outer planets moved to new signs since end of last year until today. This means that this affects not only our personal lives, but more so, as a collective. This shift continues to bring in our 3D world — great chaos, wars, madness and imbalances like we have never seen before, amplified even more so by technology.

What is being shaken up is not just our world, but our very consciousness and perspective of how we identify what is reality and illusion. These shake-ups are being triggers by celestial movements alongside our consciousness, especially when we understand the esoteric principle, “As above, so below; what is within, is as without.”

The cosmos is alive. We are part of it. And I quote my favorite phrase from the 13th century Sufi mystic poet Rumi: “We are the Universe in ecstatic motion.” We, as souls, are evolving. Our consciousness is being forced to awaken. And this is a continuing process called evolution.

While our attention and minds are being captured by social media’s algorithms, there is the macro picture of something super rare happening above us mid-year. I would like to happily report (thank God) that after the initial half of the year going wild, there comes now, exciting news on the macro level. The second half of 2026 opens with an unusually charged stretch of sky, one that many astrologers are calling one of the most significant windows of the century.

We enter this weekend with a New Moon, that celestial trigger for new things to begin, the point of promise and manifestation. It also stands as gateway to one of the ultra-rarest alignments ever.

A “basket” configuration will form in the sky peaking on 19 to 21 July. Astrologers call this Barbault’s Basket (in honor of the French mundane astrologer André Barbault). The planets up in a rare pattern that hasn’t occurred in over a hundred years, and only happens for a few days at a time. We will see Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all occupy nearly the same degree (exactly four degrees) of their respective zodiac signs, creating a distinctive geometric pattern that looks like a basket. Barbault read this kind of alignment as marking a structural shift — a window where collective energy moves from contraction and crisis toward expansion and reconstruction. Some astrologers have stated that something close to this configuration happened sometime in 1478, which triggered the Renaissance period.

Let me interpret the story of this configuration based on my own study, research and intuitive knowing.

The appearance of this basket signals a pivotal period of collective transformation, innovation and shifts in leadership and consciousness. It triggers the final break away from the “old world” after 2,000 years. It is about the reorganization of humanity and what is possible with the kind of future we all want to build.

The great tension will be between our truly authentic, individual expression versus our collective evolution. This will be the driving force from here onwards. As the old 3D material, egoistic, lower energy world is slowly self-destructing, we will meet breakthroughs, new ideas, emerging visionary possibilities only if our creativity is aligned to the greater and higher good, rather than to personal ego and ambition.

The latter is the old story. The new story is collective collaboration for the common good of all and the planet. This is the essence of the times we are firmly at: the threshold point of the Age of Aquarius.

It is so exciting! The configuration is also extraordinarily and impossibly rare because it triggers a genuine and collective turnover. For someone like me who can read these patterns, I am so humbled by the intelligence of our Universe.

Then there is Numerology. The sum of this year 2026 makes it a “1” Year, representing beginning of a new cycle, leadership and the courage to forge a path where none existed before. It carries the energy of independence, vision and self-determination, inspiring us to step into our authentic purpose with confidence and initiative. If we check the numerology of the Basket, the degrees of all the planets are at number “4,” representing stability, discipline and the steady work of building strong foundations that endure over time. It is the energy of the architect and the builder, reminding us that lasting success comes through patience, integrity, practical action and consistency.

So this weekend, as we still are in the period of Mercury Retrograde where the mind is forced to be internal. Let’s enter this most concentrated energetic period of the year with deep meditation and self-reflection. Visualize a basket with the new moon inside where our dreams, hopes and visions are now being carried higher. On a personal level, go back inside and reconnect to a dream or project you may have shelved, rather than starting something totally new. We all need this pause as several planets are also on retrograde motion asking us to recheck our direction and make sure the goals we are chasing are truly our own.

Once Mercury Retrograde concludes on 24 July… we will feel that next big push as Jupiter, the planet of expansion, leadership and creativity, gives us the confidence rooted in our genuine self-belief, to push forward.

Taken together, the second half of the year reads less like a single event and more like a turning point — the close of a long, difficult cycle and the tentative, hopeful beginning of a new one.
