  • Ethiopian Airlines announced the inauguration of its new passenger service to Mauritius, marking another milestone in the airline’s continued expansion across Africa.

The new route, which recently commenced operations, is operating three times weekly, enhancing connectivity between Mauritius and Ethiopian Airlines’ extensive global network.

The launch of the service underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to strengthening air transport links within Africa and facilitating seamless travel between the continent and the rest of the world.

By connecting Mauritius to Addis Ababa, the airline’s strategic hub, travelers will benefit from convenient access to destinations across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

Known for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant tourism industry and growing economy, Mauritius represents a strategic addition to Ethiopian Airlines’ African destinations.

The direct service between Addis Ababa and Mauritius is expected to provide travelers with greater convenience while supporting stronger trade, tourism and people-to-people relations between the two countries.

Commenting on the new service, Ethiopian Airlines Group chief executive officer Mesfin Tasew, said: “Mauritius is a destination of remarkable beauty, rich culture, and growing economic importance. By establishing a direct link between the country and our vast global network, we are pleased to offer convenient travel options to our passengers while bringing the world closer to Mauritius. As a Pan-African airline, Ethiopian will continue to serve as a catalyst for enhanced air connectivity between Africa and the rest of the world.”

Passengers traveling on the new route will enjoy Ethiopian Airlines’ award-winning hospitality, modern fleet and seamless connections through its hub in Addis Ababa, providing convenient onward travel to destinations across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

The launch of this new service underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ ongoing efforts to expand its network and contribute to the development of air transport, tourism and economic integration across the African continent.
