Philippine embassies was customary during state visits to express appreciation for the work the staff do for Filipinos.
“One thing my husband never forgets at the end of every foreign visit is to thank the embassy team who quietly work behind the scenes,” she said in a post on her official Facebook page. Refurbished embassy
The First Lady said the President had previously signed an architectural rendering for the refurbishment of the Singapore embassy.
She said that during their latest visit this week the President gave his imprimatur to the project that was completed in October 2025.
The refurbishment was meant to honor the many people who worked to establish a facility that would serve the thousands of Filipinos in Singapore, she said.
“May this embassy always be a welcoming home away from home for every overseas Filipino who walks through its doors,” she said.
The embassy visit was conducted on the last day of the President’s three-day working trip to Singapore from 14 to 16 July.
